Our words of the week are:
Here is some of what we will be learning: French - the grade twos will be learning the sound "l, ll" this week in the story Lise Lapine. The grade threes will be reading a short text about collections, and will be focussing on the use of determinants before a noun. Math - we will be finishing up multiplication this week and moving on to division. Just as with multiplication, the grade 3s are required to learn the facts, whereas the grade 2s are introduced to division and division facts through concrete division of objects into equal groups. Social Studies - The grade 2s are continuing to learn about the continents and some of the countries found on each continent. The grade 3s are learning about the difference between urban and rural communities. They will be looking at services offered in each type of community, and will be doing a venn diagram to compare. Both grades this week will also be learning and developing their mapping skills through centres using a variety of real maps of Ajax. Religion - we will be talking about the third week of Lent and looking at how Jesus' sacrifice gives us strength to overcome our fears. |
