Here is some of what we will be learning: French - After finishing up our brochures of Ajax we will be returning to some daily 5 literacy activities. I also have a surprise "book tasting" prepared for the kids on Friday. The classroom will be set up like a restaurant, and students will go from table to table, sampling different genres of books and filling out a menu card about each one that they sample. They will also have a small tasting of different snacks at each station. Math - We are moving on to transformative geometry this week. We will begin with a review of 2D shapes and what congruent means. Then, we will move on to location and movement within a grid. Once students are comfortable with grids, we will learn the difference between translations and rotations. Social Studies - We will be doing a sorting activity involving the regions of Ontario and the different jobs that one might find in each region. Next, will learn about what a municipality is. Students will be using ipads to research the roles of the different levels of government and will complete an accompanying craftivity. Religion - We will have our Rosary assembly to celebrate the arrival of the statue of Mary. We will also learn about Pentacost this week. Here is a picture of last week's tree-planting event! It was a huge success and a lot of fun! |
