Here is our weekly schedule: Monday - Day 4 - rosary assembly @ 9:00am, *Class prize! Electronics and games are allowed* Tuesday - Day 5 - *Halloween! Costumes (excluding masks) and treats are allowed at school*, Library period (switched to today due to rosary assembly) Wednesday - Day 1 - *borrow-a-book exchange* Thursday - Day 2 Friday - Day 3 Our words of the week are:
Here is some of what we will be learning: French - We will be doing some Halloween-themed activities this week and a journal entry about our Halloween night. Math - we will be learning about congruent 2D shapes this week, and then moving on to solids. We will learn how to identify and correctly name pyramids and prisms by their base, and then will describe various solids based on their properties. Social Studies - we have begun our introduction to social studies and have made some predictions as to who the pioneers were, what life was like for them and the First Nations peoples who were here upon their arrival, and how Canada has since changed. This week we will be reading a fictitious journal entry about a young pioneer girl and her trip to Canada and will describe her trip using our 5 senses. Additionally, we will learn about where the pioneers came from and where they settles in Ontario. Religion - we will be focusing on All Saints Day this week and continuing to learn about various saints. Specifically, we will touch upon St. Kateri and St. John Paul II. |
