-Hi everyone,
Here is our weekly schedule: Monday - Day 1 - Virtues Assembly @ 2:15pm Tuesday - Day 2 Wednesday - Day 3 - Borrow-a-Books are due, Library Thursday - Day 4 - Altar Talk Presentation @10:30am, Math Test Friday - Day 5 - dictée Our words of the week are:
Here is some of what we will be learning: French - We will be learning the sounds "tr, br, cr," in the story Tratisse Contre Brochin. We will also be continuing our reading strategy of identifying the main idea. Math - We will be doing some review stations to prepare for our first math test on Tuesday. The review sheet that was sent home on Friday will be taken up on Tuesday in class. Our test is Thursday. Time permitting, we will also begin an introduction to money. In grade 3, students will learn to represent money amounts to $10.00. Money is a fun unit to practice at home. Have your child represent different sums of money and have them explore multiple ways to create the same amount (ex: How can you show $5.55? Can you do it using fewer coins?). Science - We will be making observations about our plants this week as our seeds begin to sprout, and we will learn how plants have developed adaptations to help spread their seeds. Religion - This week we will be focussing on giving thanks and glory to God for the wonders of Creation. Students will be introduced to the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address and will give thanks and send greetings to the natural world. We will also focus on giving thanks to God for all of the other blessings in our lives. |
