Please ensure your child has a bathing suit and towel. Friday - Day 1 Our words of the week are:
Here is some of what we will be learning: French - we will begin a new unit on cities and towns in Canada. This week students will read an informative text about the difference between urban cities, suburbs, and rural towns and will answer accompanying questions. We will then move on to read about a few different places before moving on next week to write an inforamtional brochure about Ajax. Math - We will be learning division this week. Division can be a tough concept for students to master. Knowing multiplication facts will help greatly with this. Please practice with your child. Additionally, you can have your child help you make equal groups of things that are around the house. For example, "We ordered pizza for dinner. There are 10 slices of pizza. How can our family share it equally?" Social Studies - we will be learning about rural communitites this week and doing a related mapping activitiy. Additionally we will talk about the different services that are offered in cities/towns and will do a venn diagram to compare the services in one urban community to those offered in a rural town. Religion - We will be finishing our Holy Week calendars this week and will also do some Christian guided meditation to focus on being still in the presence of God. |
